2017 aLASKA fISHING sEASON

On January 1, 2017, Cooper Landing Fishing Guide, LLC was officially born in Cooper Landing, Alaska, offering fishing charters in Alaska on the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers for Salmon and Trout.

Jackie and Dave worked hard throughout the fall and winter of 2016 to bring their Kenai River Guide business to life. Most of the work involved a lot of computer research, website building, paperwork filing and a whole heck of a lot of online classes to learn marketing for their fishing charter business and charter fishing in Alaska as a whole.

Sharing their collective passion for fishing for Rainbow Trout and Pacific Salmon, Jackie and Dave set out to create a unique user experience, ensuring that their guests received the red carpet treatment from the time they book their charter, to the time they shook hands and hugged at the end (and beyond).

In this highlight video, we take you through the early May and June season fishing for King Salmon, Rainbow Trout, Dolly Varden and Sockeye Salmon. Both the Kenai River and Kasilof River are featured in this short video as well.

One of the most exciting trips we had during the 2017 season was fishing with Kevin from Australia for King Salmon in June on a two-handed spey rod on the Kasilof River. Kevin was fortunate to hook and land 4 Kings that day, making it one of the best days on record so far!

Further into the video, we see great fish caught on spey rods, traditional fly rods and of course conventional tackle (spinning and back trolling gear) on the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers.

2017 gave Cooper Landing Fishing Guide, LLC a great foundation to build on. Not only have we learned a lot from that season, we still carry some of those amazing memories throughout the years as we continue to grow.
