Our Kenai River Charters :
FULL DAY SALMON
(May 15th-OctOBER 31ST)
We fish the Kenai River and the Kasilof River for salmon. Our guided fishing charters start between 6 and 9 am. We target Kings, Sockeye and Coho salmon on according to the most current Alaska Fish and Game Emergency Orders. We also fish for the salmon that are in season and fresh. We target Sockeye Salmon (Reds) and Coho Salmon (Silver Salmon) for harvest. We target King Salmon on the Kasilof River from May 15th-July 31st. Only Hatchery Kings are targeted for harvest per company policy.
**Chinook Salmon (King Salmon) fishing excursions will always be catch and release for wild fish, unless fishing for hatchery fish based on current ADF&G regulations and emergency orders.
We work hard to find the best spots to catch migrating Salmon on Full Day Adventures. Most often, we fish from the shore for Sockeye Salmon as fish migrate very close to the bank. Salmon fishing with fly gear is very fun and will definitely test your angling abilities!
HALF DAY SALMON
(JULY 15 - AUGUST 10)
On the Kenai River, trips usually depart from 6-8am or 1-2pm and last for 4 hours. We target Sockeye Salmon or Coho Salmon based on current ADF&G regulations and seasons.
Half day salmon trips are a great way to see beautiful sections of the Kenai River or Kasilof River. Anglers on a Kenai River fishing Charter will have a chance at fighting several salmon on the fly!
FULL DAY KING SALMON Charters ON THE SWING (May15th-July 15th)
We target King Salmon on the swung fly with big spey rods and big flies! Hooking and landing a King on the swing is the stuff fly fishing legends are made of! King Salmon are big, nasty, ferocious predators that will nearly rip the rod out of your hands!
Kings on the swing are a special, by request only trip for 1 or 2 anglers. Success is not guaranteed, but the rewards are worth the effort.
**Chinook Salmon (King Salmon) fishing will always be catch and release for wild fish, unless fishing for hatchery fish based on current ADF&G regulations and emergency orders.
FULL DAY TROUT Excursions
(APRIL 1ST - OcT 31st)
**Rainbow Trout and Dolly Varden fishing will always be catch and release, no exceptions.
Rainbow Trout and Dolly Varden on the Kenai Peninsula can reach enormous proportions! Depending on the time of year, they can be taken with flies both on the swing and under an indicator. It is common to catch Kenai trout on flesh flies, egg imitations, leeches and other traditional flies.
Spring and early summer can be great for traditional fishing methods. If numbers and size are your thing, late summer and early fall can produce fish of a lifetime! Late fall and early winter is a great time to try swinging flesh flies and trout-sized intruders on fly rods.
HALF DAY TROUT
(APRIL 1ST - oCTOBER 31st)
**Trout fishing trips will always be catch and release.
On the Kenai River, trips usually depart at 6 or 7am or noon/1pm for afternoon trips. We target Rainbow Trout and Dolly Varden with traditional fly fishing gear. Depending on the season we use swinging techniques and/or indicator nymphing techniques.
Half day trout charters are an excellent way to get a taste of what the Kenai has to offer. The fishing and scenery is great!
FULL DAY SALMON or TROUT FLY Fishing Charters (July 15th - OCTOBER 31st)
Fishing the late summer and fall combines the best of both worlds! Combo salmon/trout trips usually start the day fishing for trout. Trout fishing towards prime salmon fishing areas.
Once you reach a salmon spot you will fish from shore. Some days, anglers will end the day drifting/fishing for trout until the trip has ended.
